What is your favorite game-script build and why?

Notorious: It’s hard to imagine this being a high-scoring game. The one scenario that seems most likely to me (other than a complete slog fest) is the Jets loading up to stop the run and having success in doing so. With all of their weapons on offense, I could see them getting up by double digits. My favorite game script is the Jets building a big lead and leaning heavily on their running game and their defense.

ncorfield8k: A defensive battle with few touchdowns. There may be ways to exploit the Jets defense if D.J. Reed is out, but I’m not confident Russell Wilson will be able to take advantage in any meaningful way. I’d rather play it through players who can rack up PPR points. And in this game in particular, it seems the Steelers defense is going overlooked. This is an elite defense in a home game. The Jets have star power, but I like the Steelers’ chances of wreaking havoc with a takeaway or two.

Davis Mattek: I would love to squint and see a great game here, but I cannot find it. These are a couple of very slow-paced teams in terms of seconds per play that want to run the ball. Justin Fields has been benched for Russell Wilson, which should make the Steelers offense theoretically pass heavier, but I think it just increases the number of checkdowns and decreases the odds of down-the-field passes. The Jets are working in Davante Adams and will want to show off their new acquisition, but I don’t foresee huge fireworks. I am playing this like it goes under the low total and that all 4 running backs in the game are in play.

Bobby Gomes: This game is setting up to be an old-fashioned rock fight with the implied game total hovering around 39 points. The addition of Davante Adams has spun the line around to make the Jets a slight road favorite. This is a game that could be decided by a defensive play or field goal. Correlating Breece Hall and Najee Harris with their respective defenses makes a ton of sense. I will also have exposure to both kickers to get different.

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
