NFL DFS Showdown Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday Night Football

DRAFTKINGS

Who are your three favorite Captains, ranked in order?

Notorious: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle
headChopper: Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf, Brandon Aiyuk
ncorfield8k: George Kittle, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Kenneth Walker
Davis Mattek: Deebo Samuel, Jordan Mason, Brock Purdy

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I’ll be playing small-field and 3-entry-max tournaments. I plan to be overweight on the quarterbacks and pass catchers while being underweight on the running backs, D/STs, and kickers. I also like the idea of building some contrarian lineups with George Kittle at CPT/MVP.

headChopper: I’ll be playing 20 teams in low/mid stakes tournaments that have big prizes at the top. My plan of attack is to narrow my player pool down more than most Showdowns. These two teams have condensed production. On DK specifically, I think getting the correct pass catcher in the CPT spot is what’s going to win this slate. I’m leaning toward Deebo Samuel, but there’s a list of 5 guys I’m considering locking in at the CPT spot. On FD, I’ll use Brock Purdy at MVP and lock him with 2 pass catchers.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – This is not a slate with a ton of reliable value at single-digit projected ownership. Outside of the top four wide receivers or tight ends on each team, no one has been targeted more than 6 times. This is a slate where I will probably lean into the relatively low projected ownership of the good value plays (e.g., Noah Fant, Zach Charbonnet, Jauan Jennings) and try to pull other levers to get different rather than taking a lot of shots on players who might see 1 target. I’ll leave salary on the table and play unique combos, like quarterback vs. defense or both Seattle running backs.

Davis Mattek: The value plays on this slate are non-existent and both teams really do not feature a TE2/RB2/WR4. On Showdown slates where there are no obvious punt plays, I always prefer an MME approach. I will be fading Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings, and I’ll go way over the field on Kenneth Walker, Brock Purdy, and Deebo Samuel. Around those distinctions, there should be a way for Simlabs to find me +EV roster constructions that will not be heavily duped.

What’s one rule/setting that you’re using in LineupHQ or SimLabs to capitalize on the above strategies?
