A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. So, who better to walk you through all of the key NFL DFS positions each week? Noto has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and he will mix it up in all different types of contests. In his Key Personnel article, he will walk you through his favorite NFL DFS picks, ways to pivot away from the chalk, and overall strategy for the upcoming slate.

Happy Week 14 everyone!

My friend texted me the other day and said that his wife was making fun of him because he couldn’t get cough syrup down without complaining. This started a lengthy conversation about all of the silly stuff we used to drink in our early 20s. From Jager Bombs, to Irish Car Bombs, to Washington Apples, to Copper Camels, and so much more.

I didn’t have my first sip of alcohol until after high school and the ultimate goal was to hide the taste of the alcohol. We would drink the cheap Boone’s Farm wine, UV Blue vodka, and Bud Light Lime. In fact, it took me years of drinking before I could even tolerate beer. We loved beer pong so much, but could barely get the stuff down. We got to the point where we would bring a Costco-sized bag of pretzels to every party.

The moral of the story is that we all change; we grow. We can apply these same life lessons to DFS. Maybe you went for the Zack Moss drink that you thought would taste good at 50% ownership (I did). Maybe you found yourself hung over from the awful game he had last Sunday (I did). The point is that we should always look back on our decisions to see if we could have been better with our process. If you make this a weekly routine, you will inevitably get better at DFS.

Now let’s dive into this week’s slate.

Josh Allen: $8,300 DK / $9,000 FD
Justin Fields: $6,800 DK / $7,900 FD

The Bills are now 6-6 on the season and essentially need to treat every game as a must-win from here on out. They can probably lose one and still make the playoffs, but winning out would secure a spot in the packed AFC. They are coming off of a bye and get to face the Chiefs, who knocked them out of the playoffs two years ago. At sub-10% ownership, I love Josh Allen in DFS this week. He’s coming off of a 43-fantasy point outing against the Eagles and will need to put up a lot of points given how bad their defense has been. He offers a solid rushing floor, he has obvious stacking mates, and he’s flying under the radar.

On a per-dollar basis, Justin Fields is my favorite quarterback of the week. He tends to have the highest rushing prop of any quarterback in play each week, and that’s the case once again. He’s known for his ability to make plays on the ground, but he has really improved as a passer this season. The Bears should have beaten the Lions a few weeks ago in Detroit but couldn’t get anything to go their way in the 4th quarter. Despite playing very timidly offensively in the 2nd half, Fields still finished the game with 24 fantasy points.
