Noto's NFL DFS Key Personnel: Week 9
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. So, who better to walk you through all of the key NFL DFS positions each week? Noto has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and he will mix it up in all different types of contests. In his Key Personnel article, he will walk you through his favorite NFL DFS picks, ways to pivot away from the chalk, and overall strategy for the upcoming slate.
Week 9 is already upon us… how?!
I thought I was sitting pretty after the early games ended last week. I had Jalen Hurts tagged as my only quarterback play of the week. He was tremendous, scoring 35 fantasy points against the Bengals. All I needed was the Broncos to not score a bunch of touchdowns and if they did, for at least one of them to come from Javonte Williams. Unfortunately, Bo Nix accounted for 4 touchdowns and Jaleel McLaughlin got the only running back touchdown on Denver. After my best week of the season in Week 7, I had my worst in Week 8.
LineupHQ is my favorite NFL DFS optimizer in existence. It’s the best place to spend your Sunday morning, as the projections and Expert Play tags are updated in real-time as inactives are announced. Cheers to a profitable Week 9 everyone.
NFL DFS Top Picks & Plays: Noto’s Key Personnel for Week 9
I love this week because we have two very different slates on DraftKings and FanDuel. Pricing is tight on the former and soft on the latter. This isn’t a week where lineup builds are going to look the same on the two sites. I am leaning more toward balanced builds on DraftKings and stars-and-scrubs builds on FanDuel. This is also a week where I like the idea of using running backs in the FLEX, even in tournaments. The position is loaded with strong plays.
Quarterback
EXPERT PLAY TAGS
Bryce Young: $4,400 DK
Sam Darnold: $7,500 FD
These are not the quarterbacks I was expecting to tag at the start of the week. However, my favorite roster construction on DraftKings starts with a cheap quarterback. Bryce Young got the start last week against the Broncos and looked competent. It was a tough matchup on the road, yet he completed 24 of 37 passes for 224 yards and 2 touchdowns. After trading Diontae Johnson, the Panthers are going to see what they have with their young players for the rest of the season. Young has a better draw this week at home against the Saints, who are 27th in PFF’s pass rush grades. New Orleans is also expected to be without their top three cornerbacks. If there was ever a spot for Young (still a big if) to play well, this is it.
As has been the case all season, FanDuel has included the Sunday Night Football game on their main slate. Trade rumors were floating around last week surrounding Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold, but nothing ever came to fruition. Darnold draws a favorable matchup at home against the Colts, who are 29th in pressure rate, 23rd in EPA against the pass, and 21st in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. Darnold has scored at least 17 fantasy points (FD scoring) in 5 of his last 6 games and is expected to have T.J. Hockenson back.
