Week 13 of the NFL regular season will begin with an AFC East matchup between the Jets and Patriots on Thursday Night Football. Kickoff is set for 8:15 PM ET on Prime Video from Gillette Stadium.
The Jets enter play on a 2-game winning streak after starting the season 0-7, but they face an uphill battle against the 8-2 Patriots – a team that hasn’t lost a game since Week 3. The Patriots will be led by QB Drake Maye, who is the current favorite to win the league’s MVP award.
Despite a couple of recent wins, the market isn’t buying much stock in the Jets ahead of this game. Looking at the NFL odds for Thursday Night Football, the Patriots are favored by 12.5 points on the spread. The total is set at 43.5 points.

Best NFL Player Props for Jets vs. Patriots
Here are my top player prop bets, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 PM ET on Thursday, November 13th:
- Justin Fields Over/Under 129.5 Passing Yards
- Drake Maye Over/Under 27.5 Rushing Yards
- Mason Taylor Over/Under 31.5 Receiving Yards
Justin Fields OVER 129.5 Passing Yards (-112, FanDuel)
If Fields doesn’t get benched tonight (he shouldn’t, considering the Jets have won 2 games in a row), there is tremendous value on the over. He had only 54 passing yards in Week 10 against the Browns, but the Jets ran the ball 33 times and only attempted 11 passes in a game that they led for much of the afternoon.
Fields had 244 passing yards in Week 9, 283 passing yards in Week 5, 226 passing yards in Week 4, and 218 passing yards in Week 1. There is precedent here, and the matchup isn’t impossible, facing a New England secondary that has allowed 7 of 10 quarterbacks to go over their season average in success rate against them.
Drake Maye UNDER 27.5 Rushing Yards (-114, DraftKings)
The Jets have allowed the 5th-most rushing yards to quarterbacks this season, but that number is a little bit misleading. They allowed a 40-yard rush to Josh Allen in Week 2 and a 33-yard rush to Baker Mayfield in Week 3. Since that point, they have allowed 28 rushing yards or fewer to all but one quarterback.
The Jets typically play a high rate of man coverage, which encourages quarterback runs. However, we might see Maye play more conservatively with his legs in a game that shouldn’t require him to do too much outside of the pocket for the Patriots to win. This is a prop that correlates well with a blowout game script.
Mason Taylor OVER 31.5 Receiving Yards (-112, FanDuel)
Taylor was held to only 4 receiving yards against the Browns in Week 10, but the Jets attempted only 11 passes in that game. Tonight, he draws a much more favorable matchup against the Patriots and likely a much more favorable game script for passing as well.
Last weekend, with LB Christian Elliss out for the Patriots, TE Cade Otton had a career-high 9 receptions and a 20% first-read target share. Tampa Bay frequently picked on LB Jack Gibbens and LB Robert Spillane in coverage and were successful far more often than they weren’t.
There is an obvious question mark as to how much the Jets will throw the football tonight, in addition to how well Justin Fields will throw the ball when they do decide to pass. If they have any success through the air though, Taylor is likely to be involved.
