The Lions vs. Raiders matchup for the Week 8 Sunday Night Football matchup in what projects to turn a bit ugly as the Lions are the far superior team, especially while playing at home. Amon-Ra St. Brown is currently questionable with an illness, however, he looks as though he’s going to play. The potential script of the Lions playing from ahead most of the game opens up some great opportunities for DFS Pick’em predictions on PrizePicks.
Each week, I’ll deliver my top NFL PrizePicks predictions for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football. Use the PrizePicks referral code GRINDERS to receive a $100 deposit match to prep you for the NFL season.
PrizePicks Plays: Lions vs. Raiders
- Josh Jacobs – More Than 20.5 Receiving Yards
- Jahmyr Gibbs – More Than 26.5 Receiving Yards
- Jakobi Meyers – More Than 7.5 Targets
Josh Jacobs – 20.5 Receiving Yards
Throughout 7 weeks of the NFL season, Josh Jacobs has the highest target rate of any RB in the league not named Alvin Kamara. He projects for 25 receiving yards in the RotoGrinders projections, but I think he’ll surpass that number as well. The Raiders are fairly large underdogs in this game, and Jacobs gets even more involved in the passing game when the team is coming from behind. The RotoGrinders NFL Fantasy Pick’em Tool for PrizePicks has this play with a 62.33% success rate and Jacobs has at least 5 targets in all but 5 games this season. The strength of the Lions’ defense is putting pressure on the QB, and I expect the Raiders to dump it off to Jacobs early and often tonight. This is my favorite DFS Pick’em play on the PrizePicks slate for Sunday Night Football between the Lions vs. Raiders.
Play: Jacobs – More Than 20.5 Receiving Yards
Jahmyr Gibbs – 26.5 Receiving Yards
Without David Montgomery, the coach speak from Dan Campbell proved to be accurate as Jahmyr Gibbs took on the bell-cow role. While he only had 11 rushing attempts, he finished with 58 receiving yards on 10 targets and 9 receptions. We’re currently projecting Gibbs for nearly 35 yards through the air tonight and although the potential game script doesn’t match well with this DFS Pick’em play, I don’t think it really matters due to the low number. Gibbs could easily eclipse this total in the first half, as the Lions have made a conscious effort to get Gibbs involved in the passing offense even when Montgomery was in the lineup. He’s a wildly electric player who has shown that all he needs to succeed is the touches. He should be heavily featured tonight, and 26.5 receiving yards should be easy for him to surpass.
Play: Gibbs – More Than 26.5 Receiving Yards
Jakobi Meyers – 7.5 Targets
Not only is this PrizePicks number far too low for Meyers, but the DFS Pick’em play perfectly fits with the game script we’re building with as well. If the Raiders are playing from behind they’ll have to throw the ball a lot and Jakobi Meyers has been a target hog so far this season. He has received double-digit targets in all but two games this season and tonight is likely to be no different. The RotoGrinders projections have Meyers for 9.5 targets tonight, and he is even more likely to reach a ceiling performance if the Raiders are playing from behind tonight. Jimmy Garoppolo is back in action which should benefit Meyers significantly as well. I expect the Lions to take it to the Raiders tonight, which means Jakobi Meyers will be getting peppered with targets throughout the second half.
