It’s Week 2, and the NFL fans are being graced with the Patriots vs. Dolphins in a divisional matchup for the Sunday Night Football Showdown slate. The DFS Pick’em lines have been posted, and there are plenty of PrizePicks predictions the projections think will come through this weekend. Both of these offenses are coming off big games, and although the Patriots defense isn’t anything to scoff at, both teams play at a fast pace, so there should be plenty of scoring in this one.

Each week, I’ll deliver my top NFL PrizePicks predictions for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football. Use the PrizePicks referral code GRINDERS to receive a $100 deposit match to prep you for the NFL season.

PrizePicks Plays: Patriots vs. Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa – More Than 33.5 Pass Attempts

The Dolphins play fast and are without a true number-one running back. Without even looking at projections, this one seemed far too low and something to capitalize on. Both teams run their offense at quick paces and Tua Tagovailoa fired a ridiculous 45 passes in a shootout vs. the Chargers in Week 1. While we likely can’t expect quite that many this week, more than 33.5 isn’t a tough number to hit. Thankfully, the projections confirmed my suspicions, with both the Rotogrinders and THE BLITZ sources projecting for more than 37 passing attempts. This is my favorite DFS pick’em play of the slate.

Play: Tagovailoa More Than 33.5 Pass Attempts

Tyreek Hill – More Than 80.5 Receiving Yards

Although the Tua Tagovailoa pass attempts PrizePicks prediction is my top option on the Showdown slate, Tyreek Hill comes in as a very, very close second. Similar to the first, this play projects to smash this total on basically any projection source you look at. Hill had a whopping 215 yards last week on a ridiculous 15 targets. While the Patriots are known for eliminating a team’s number-one option, it’s proven to be much easier said than done with a player of Hill’s caliber. The cheetah is the most explosive player in the NFL, and the pick pairs wonderfully with the Tua Tagovailoa pass attempt prop.

Play: Hill More Than 80.5 Receiving Yards

Raheem Mostert + Durham Smythe – More Than 0.5 Rushing / Receiving Touchdowns

The Dolphins get the ball within the 5-yard line, they try to punch it in their first two tries- do they succeed? Maybe. We can’t know until it happens. However, whenever the ball is close to the end zone, a run or a play-action pass are two of the likeliest scenarios. I love the combo of pairing the top running back alongside the top tight end for the Dolphins. Smythe had a respectable 7 targets last week as the main tight end in this offense. The RotoGrinders projections currently have Mostert with a 69% chance (nice) to score either a rushing or receiving touchdown. Throw in Smythe’s projection with a 26% chance of scoring a touchdown, and the combo of the two of them together is a great play.
