NFL PrizePicks Top Plays: Player Predictions for Saturday December 16th

We have officially launched our new NFL DFS simulations tool: SimLabs. Try it now!

It’s a rare Saturday with NFL football, as 3 games are being played on December 16th. PrizePicks has introduced a new format for their NFL DFS Pick’em game, with brand new “Demons” and “Goblins” (is it still Halloween?) plays that indicate modified payout structures, up to 100x. That means, each of the plays will have options to go higher or lower than they are otherwise projected. I’ll indicate my confidence rate with each pick to help you dictate whether or not you want to capitalize on a Green Goblin (Spidey SZN!) with a lower payout and easier projection to hit, or a Demon that has a higher projection as well as an increased payout.

Each week, I’ll deliver my top NFL PrizePicks predictions for Thursday, Sunday, and Monday Night Football. Use the PrizePicks referral code GRINDERS to receive a $100 deposit match to prep you for the NFL season.

PrizePicks Plays: Saturday December 16th

David Montgomery – 0.5 Touchdowns

I always look to make some kind of bet or DFS Pick’em prediction on David Montgomery to score a touchdown anytime the Lions are expected to have a positive game script. That should be the case in Week 15 against the Broncos as they’re currently favored by 4.5 points at home. The Lions have been better at home all year and although the Broncos have been playing better, Detroit is still the superior team. Denver has been far more susceptible to the ground game this season and has given up some massive games. Despite Jahmyr Gibbs being far more involved now than he was earlier in the season, the Lions have recommitted themselves to the run game so Montgomery should still get plenty of touches, especially near the goal line. He has scored at least 1 rushing touchdown in all but 2 games he has suited up for this season.

Play: Montgomery – More Than 0.5 Touchdowns

Courtland Sutton + Russell Wilson – 0.5 Touchdowns (Combo)

Getting Courtland Sutton in a combo play for NFL PrizePicks feels like a cheat code. Sutton has caught a touchdown pass in 7 of his past 8 weeks and all but 3 games this entire season. He’s been by far Russell Wilson favorite target in the red zone as he’s able to use his massive frame to catch passes the DBs can’t get to in the back of the endzone. It’s simply an added bonus we get the potential for a Russell Wilson rushing touchdown instead for our pick’em play to hit. He has scored on the ground in 2 of his past 3 games and the two of them combine for a 0.8 touchdown projection tonight in the RotoGrinders projections. If this team gets into the red zone line they’ll be looking for Sutton and if the play breaks down, Russ can run one in.

Play: Sutton + Wilson – More Than 0.5 Touchdowns (Combo)

Gardner Minshew – 231.5 Passing Yards

This is the first of the PrizePicks predictions we can really take advantage of the Demons and Goblins addition on their site. Whether you want an easier pass to victory with his sub-200-yard Goblin projection, sticking with the original, or chancing the 250-yard Demon projection, all are viable tonight. Gardner Minshew projects for more than 250 passing yards tonight in the RotoGrinders projections, above his projected Demon number on PrizePicks tonight. I want to get as much exposure to Minshew in my cards as possible with all of the variations as his 199.5-yard Goblin projection has a 79.44% win rate according to the NFL Fantasy Pick’em Tool for PrizePicks.

Play: Minshew – More Than 231.5 Passing Yards
