NFL Week 1 Weather Report: Betting and Fantasy Football Impact

josh-allen-800x480

We’re kicking things off with a fairly quiet start to the NFL season, but there’s still 1 game with a decent chance for rain, and 1 more with winds over 15mph.

This NFL weather article will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week.

If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 1 Weather Report & Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my NFL weather page.

A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high wind, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Sunday Main Slate

Arizona Cardinals at Buffalo Bills – The windiest game of the week, but that’s not saying much. We’ll see sustained winds around 15mph, gusts around 25mph.

Washington Commanders at Tampa Bay Bucs – Scattered showers and storms around. A decent chance that at some point one ends up over the stadium.

Sunday Night Football

Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions – Game indoors, no issues.

Monday Night Football

New York Jets at San Francisco 49ers – Winds around 10mph, no major concerns.

Weather Impact on Fantasy & Betting

We could see some low impact on a few deeper passes and kicks in Buffalo. It’s not a screaming under, but even one or two impacted passes or FGs could be the difference between an over or under. In Tampa, we’ll likely see rain at some point, but I don’t expect it’s a full washout.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar gifs to Twitter as we get closer to kickoff: @KevinRothWx on Twitter.
