NFL Week 14 Weather Report: Betting and Fantasy Football Impact

lamar-jackson-800x480

Week 14 looks like a busy one in the weather department, with a handful of games that could be in for rain and wind issues.

This NFL weather article will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and, most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week.

If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 14 Weather Report & Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my NFL weather page.

A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high-wind games, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

Sunday Main Slate

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears – Likely dry, winds 10-15 mph sustained with gusts around 20.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Cleveland Browns – Likely dry, a stray shower can’t be ruled out. Winds around 10mph.

Indianapolis Colts at Cincinnati Bengals – Dry. Winds 10-15 mph. Fairly low weather impact overall.

Houston Texans at New York Jets – Rain most of the game, and at times it could be very heavy rain. It should be a soaker, with winds around 15mph sustained gusting to 30mph. Wet and windy, it’s a downgrade to offense.

Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens – Another game that looks like it’ll play soaked. Rain most of the game, if not all game, again at times it could be heavy. Winds are less of an issue here, sustained around 10mph and gusting to 15mph, but it’s still nasty weather that will feature plenty of running.

Sunday Night Football

Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys – Game indoors, no issues.

Monday Night Football

Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins – Mild South Florida temperatures, no rain, and winds 10-15 mph. There are no major impacts.

Green Bay Packers at New York Giants – Temp around 40 degrees with a 10-15 mph wind and no snow or rain. It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty solid for East Rutherford in December.

Weather Impact on Fantasy & Betting

As it currently stands, I have these games grouped into two categories: the “ugly East Coast games” (BAL and NYJ games) and the “manageable Midwest games” (CHI, CLE, CIN games). It’s those East Coast games that I think pose a downgrade to offenses, especially the passing attack.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar gifs to Twitter as we get closer to kickoff, @KevinRothWx on Twitter.
