NFL Week 6 Weather Report: Betting and Fantasy Football Impact

brock-purdy-800x480

Week 6 looks a bit busy in the weather department, with a few borderline windy games and some lingering light rain to watch for.

This NFL weather article will highlight any extreme temperatures, precipitation, and most importantly, high winds that we could see across the NFL landscape this week.

If a game isn’t specifically listed in this week’s report, that means the weather is quiet enough for it not to be an issue in that particular game.

NFL Week 6 Weather Report & Forecast

As always, it’s best to stay up to date with the very latest forecasts, so follow me on Twitter @KevinRothWx and keep an eye on my NFL weather page.

A reminder that while temperature and rain/snow can impact a game, the greatest impact by far comes from high-wind games, so I’ll be looking to highlight those spots when possible.

International Series

Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans- Played in London, the weather looks good. Dry with light winds and mild temps.

Sunday Main Slate

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears- Light rain possible early, though I’m currently expecting it to be mostly (if not fully) dry. The bigger issue is the wind, 20mph sustained with gusts around 30mph or higher. That will make long throws and kicks difficult.

Seattle Seahawks at Cincinnati Bengals- A chance for off an on showers, winds 10-15mph.

San Francisco 49ers at Cleveland Browns- Scattered off and on showers likely. Winds will be sustained 15-20mph with gusts up to 30mph. The wind/rain combo is a bump down to passing and kicking.

Sunday Night Football

New York Giants at Buffalo Bills – A chance for rain, though the bulk should be clear by kickoff. Winds manageable at 10-15mph.

Monday Night Football

Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Chargers – They’ve got a roof, no issues.

Weather Impact on Fantasy & Betting

The ugliest weather comes in Chicago (mostly a wind threat) and Cleveland (slightly less wind, but adding in rain). Neither game is ideal for passing or kicking, and I think a run-heavy and clock-draining scheme may be seen in both.

In case things change, I’ll be posting radar gifs to Twitter as we get closer to kickoff, @KevinRothWx on Twitter.
