ARIZONA CARDINALS

The Cardinals put on a defensive clinic against the Panthers last week and now sit at 3-2. Arizona had 1 FF, 7 sacks and 3 INTs against Newton and company. Their offense however, is a different story.

Fantasy Relevant

QBCarson Palmer looks lost right now. In his last 3 games he has averaged just over 200 yards and has 7, yes 7 INTs. SF has the 2nd best pass defense in the NFL.

RBs – Mendenhall and Ellington are sharing duties and neither is a good play this week.

Receiving – The 49ers will make it very difficult for any Cards receiver. They have the 2nd best FPPG average against WRs. Fitzgerald is nursing a bad hammy and has not reached 70 yards once in his last 4 games.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

The 49ers actually looked like the team from last year dominating the Texans in every aspect last week. They rushed for 180 yards and their defense suffocated the Houston offense with a forced fumble and 3 INTs, one for a pick 6. They have a favorable matchup this week VS the Cardinals.

Fantasy Relevant

QBColin Kaepernick threw 6 passes the entire game last week and only rushed once for 14 yards. I am aware they were leading all game, but 6 passes is unreal. Kaepernick is capable of being the best fantasy QB on any given week, but you cannot trust him right now. Colin ranks outside the top 30 in FPPG for QBs in the last 4 weeks.

RBs – Gore is averaging 6.6 YPC in his last 3 games. Arizona has the 3rd best run defense in the NFL.

Receiving – It is hard to count on the 49ers receivers with the lack of passing in this offense right now. Boldin should see plenty of Patrick Peterson on Sunday. Per PFF Peterson has the 5th best comp pct allowed with CBs playing over 300 snaps. All or nothing Vernon Davis could excel this week as the Cardinals are allowing the most FPPG to the TE.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

The Redskins are a disappointing 1-3, but Philly and Dallas are tied for the division lead at 2-3. With a win Sunday night, Washington is right back in the race. Hopefully the bye week has allowed RG III to get back to 100%, he needs to use his dual threat abilities if the Skins are to make a run this year.

Fantasy Relevant

QB – The Cowboys are allowing the most FPPG to the QB position. They have also allowed Rivers, Peyton, and Eli to throw for over 400 yards and 3 TDs against them.

RBs – Dallas has the 25th ranked fantasy defense VS the RB, allowing 21.9 FPPG. Morris was a monster last year against Dallas running for 313 yards and 4 TDs in their 2 meetings.

Receiving – This game should be high scoring. Dallas ranks 31st in pass defense. Pierre Garcon is 5th among WR in targets this year with 10.25 per game.

DALLAS COWBOYS

The Cowboys almost pulled off the huge upset against the Broncos last week. Romo was unbelievable throwing for over 500 yards and 5 TDs. Dallas had 3 receivers (Witten, Bryant and Williams) go for over 120 yards. It is unfortunate that most people simply want to talk about Romo’s late pick, he deserves better. Romo now has 13TDs VS 2 INT on the season.

Fantasy Relevant

QB – Romo should have another great game against a bad Redskins secondary. Washington is allowing over 23 FPPG to the QB and the most yards per pass attempt at 9.2. In his 2 meetings with the Redskins last year he threw for 659 yards and 5 TDs.

RBs – The Redskins are allowing the most YFS per game to the RB at 193. RBs are averaging 24.8 FPPG against the Redskins.

Receiving – Washington may have the worse pass defense in football currently ranked 28th overall and 28th VS the WR. Every Cowboy receiver is a good play this week with the way Romo has been playing and the poor Skins defense. Miles Austin may return which will push Williams back to WR3 status, keep an eye on this. Bryant is likely the #1 ranked WR this week and will likely be in 50% of all lineups. Witten looks to be in good shape as WAS allows the most FPPG to the TE with 18.3.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The Colts looked outstanding last week pulling out a dramatic come from behind win over the previously undefeated Seahawks. Indy is clicking on all cylinders, their offense and defense, both look great. Could they be a Super Bowl contender? They will get to show case themselves on Monday night football against the Chargers.

Fantasy Relevant

QB – Luck has been a much better real life QB than fantasy this year. The Colts have become much more run oriented team. I do like him to have a big week in SD though, with the Chargers allowing the 2nd most FPPG to the QB.

RBs – Richardson is only averaging 3.1 YPC and SD has not allowed an RB TD this season. However the Chargers are the 24th ranked defense VS the run and I think T-Rich has his first big game of the season.

Receiving – SD has the 27th overall and 29th ranked fantasy defense against the pass allowing the 3rd most catches and 4th most yards to the WR. The Chargers have also allowed 7 WR TDS this season. Hilton and Wayne are both great plays, with Fleener being a solid value play.

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS

The Chargers were non existent in the first half against Oakland Sunday night. The got it together in the 2nd half and made a game of it, but came up short. Their offense has been very good ranking 5th overall, but their defense continues to let them down. In order for SD to be a playoff team, that defense needs to get much better fast.

Fantasy Relevant

QB – Up until last week Rivers had an 11:2 TD/INT ratio, and then he was picked 3 times by the Raiders. He still threw for over 400 yards for the 3rd time this season. Indy has played great defense so far this year, only allowing 14.1 FPPG to the QB.

RBs – It looks as though Woodhead may share carries with Brown while Mathews is out. Woodhead leads all RBS with 31 catches and had 5 red zone targets last week.

Receiving – Indy has the 6th best pass defense in the NFL. Allen has 195 combined yards in his last 2 games. Brown has 18 targets in his last two games. Gates has the 2nd most TE receiving yards with 438. Gates has averaged 10 targets per game in his last two games.
