What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
TastefulTides: Single-entry and smaller-field GPPs are my preferred format. None of the top names, outside of Alex Ovechkin, are on this slate, so we will have to use some younger players with a smaller sample size. Right now it’s looking like Utah and San Jose are the teams I’m going to be getting to the most on this slate. While San Jose has improved since last season, they still allow the 4th-most goals per game. San Jose has some really strong pieces offensively that can challenge this Utah defense.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – Even with just 5 games on tonight’s slate, there are some clear matchups to exploit. Utah, Washington, and Carolina are my favorite targets, and I expect ownership to be relatively spread out among those teams. Detroit and Winnipeg are in play as well, but I see more upside in the matchups for Utah, Washington, and Carolina. I don’t plan to spend up at goalie and will likely narrow my focus to the relative safety of Eric Comrie or the expected shot volume for whoever is confirmed for Vancouver.
