What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – I like the LAK/ANA game generally, but with both teams having injury concerns and having played last night (and with it being the last game of the night), I wouldn’t expect much news from that game until 30 minutes before it begins, so it might be a good idea to have a little extra salary to maneuver around with or to have a fellow late-game one-off in order to make potential changes. Given how the last 3 games of the night are probably the most relevant to this slate, it might be easier than expected to be able to make changes. The RotoGrinders NHL Discord is a great place to find all that news.
TastefulTides: Single-entry and 3-max GPPs are my preferred format. The Golden Knights and Oilers are really strong plays tonight. I do like the Blue Jackets as GPP pivots, and I like stacking them with Elvis Merzlikins for correlation. ANA/LAK also offers a lot of salary relief, so that is the game from which I will be getting most of my salary relief for cash and single-entry.
Hunter4ever89: Large-field GPPs are my preferred format tonight. DraftKings made their higher-stakes and single-entry contests pretty small compared to a normal Saturday. I will be focusing on Edmonton and Vegas as my primary stacks while looking to get different from the field with my secondary stacks and goalies. There is merit in fading Edmonton and/or Vegas in large-field contests; Thursday night is a prime example of any given team failing on any night. It is hockey, and we can lean into variance from time to time.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
