NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Saturday, March 28
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
Moneyball16: Nathan MacKinnon
TastefulTides: Nathan MacKinnon
Hunter4ever89: Nathan MacKinnon
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – Calgary is basically never popular, but I think that changes tonight. They have the 2nd-highest projected team total on the slate in a home game against one of the few teams worse than them. On top of that, the Flames are still very cheap. Many of their players will be viable tonight. However, if you don’t play any Flames, then the Canuck goalie is probably your best option in net. The Flames have easily had the lowest shooting percentage this season at 8.6%, so the opposing goalie always has the opportunity to put up a big score, and that big score would have the advantage of eliminating a lot of lineups from DFS contention.
TastefulTides: Single-entry GPPs are my preferred format. Both sides of the Montreal/Nashville game are going to be on my radar, but if I had to pick one side of the game, it’s the top line for Montreal. They should play really solid minutes and have the better on-paper matchup. Calgary is a good source of salary savings, but just keep in mind they are likely going to be popular, so I would look to get different in other places in your lineup if you are going to play the popular Calgary value.
Hunter4ever89: Single-entry and 3-max are my preferred formats today. The top lines for COL and MTL really stand out as the top stacks tonight. I would like to have some kind of exposure to COL and/or MTL in each of my lineups. With that said, they’ll be popular, and CGY stands out as a clear value play to fit these stacks in. Looking to any other cheap stacks should be contrarian in larger-field contests, and I really like the idea of using VAN’s goalie against the CGY chalk. VAN and CGY are respectively 31st and 32nd in goal scoring this season.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

About the Author
Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
