NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Thursday, March 12
Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?
TastefulTides: Nathan MacKinnon
boggslite: Nathan MacKinnon
Joda: Nathan MacKinnon
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
TastefulTides: Single entry is my preferred format tonight. With such a huge slate, I wouldn’t be too worried about ownership. Florida is really sticking out to me; they are cheap and have a decent matchup, but their lines do remain unclear, so that is something to watch out for. The Avs are the best raw-point team on the slate, but the Bruins, Devils, Maple Leafs, and Ducks are other teams that I have interest in.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – This is a similar slate to what we had on Tuesday, with a lot to like but nothing standing out as an absolute must-play. Nathan MacKinnon and the Avs are my top target, but I also like Toronto, Carolina, and Utah in their respective matchups. There is plenty of value to be had from Florida’s lineup, which is where I will look for some cheaper secondary stacks.
Joda: Large-field GPPs – With a whopping 14 games on the slate and fragile value at our disposal, I am leaning into more full-line stacks instead of a stars-and-scrubs approach to roster construction. Florida will be where most people go for salary relief, so Elvis Merzlikins in tournaments makes sense. There are many teams in good spots, so I would like to spread my exposure out. Colorado and Boston are 2 of my favorites. I also like Toronto’s top line as a contrarian option.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
