NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Thursday, March 19

Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?

Moneyball16: Kirill Kaprizov
Joda: Kirill Kaprizov

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Moneyball16: Large-field tournaments – With Columbus expected to be popular, and for good reason, I do like pivoting to Igor Shesterkin, the opposing goalie, in lineups where you are fading Columbus. He is one of the best goalies in the world, should get a good amount of volume, and is capable of shutting out any team. If that happens to be Columbus tonight, he will not only put up a huge score, but he will also take out a lot of opposing DFS lineups.

Joda: Large-field tournaments – Columbus has been one of the best teams in the NHL since the coaching change. The attractive price tags on their skaters should drive ownership to them, particularly their fully-correlated top line, which costs just $16,000 total. As Moneyball said above, Igor Shesterkin provides a lot of leverage on those lineups in tournaments. The Rangers have some options in their top 6, like a red-hot Alexis Lafreniere. Elsewhere, Minnesota and Tampa Bay have good matchups, and there are some cheap stacks at our disposal. Buffalo is of interest as well, but there could be some changes to their lineup, so follow any updates in the NHL channel in our RotoGrinders Discord.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
