NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 14

Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?

Moneyball16: Jack Hughes
boggslite: Clayton Keller
Joda: Nick Suzuki

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – Like the previous days, following the news on which players are resting will be paramount, maybe even more so now with all 16 playoff teams clinched. From the early games, it looks like Philly and Carolina will rest a bunch of players, but we will definitely know more before lock. In the later games, I would be very scared to play stars from Colorado, Minnesota, and Pittsburgh, but there will be good GPP options from the guys who do play, considering all 3 teams have good matchups. Last night, in a good spot with lots of stars out, the best of what was left for Minnesota got lots of minutes with big roles and basically had no ownership.

boggslite: I’m playing single entry tonight. My focus will be to build around the Mammoth and Kings, as they have plenty to play for at this late stage of the season, and both teams draw great matchups. There could be some interesting value that opens up, so I will monitor which teams choose to rest players and take advantage of any value skaters that may open up as the day progresses.

Joda: Large-field tournaments – I plan to stick to the teams who have something to play for. Montreal is fighting for home ice in their first-round matchup against Tampa Bay, while Philadelphia clinched its playoff berth last night. Locked into a first-round matchup with the Penguins, we could see the Flyers with some fresh bodies and looser than usual. Utah is fighting for the first wild-card spot to avoid the Avalanche. Meanwhile, the Kings can still slide into that preferable spot, and they have a great matchup against the worst team in the NHL, the Canucks.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
