What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – One thing I have been doing recently is reassessing my general thoughts when it comes to saves and power plays. Last season, there was an average of 18.2 penalty minutes and 60.2 shots on goal per game. This month, there are 14.5 penalty minutes per game and 55.1 shots on goal. Aiming for that 35-save bonus in GPPs is becoming a less viable goal, and even-strength production and even-strength stacks are becoming more attractive.
boggslite: Large-field tournaments – There are plenty of great matchups to target, and my focus will be prioritizing upside. Detroit will likely be highly owned, but I will likely look to some other matchups in games that will play at a higher pace with more shootout potential. I plan to spend down at goalie in order to load up the rest of my lineup, as I don’t love the save potential from any of the expensive goalies.
Joda: Small-field tournaments are my preferred format tonight. Given the size of the slate, I find it easier to condense on a couple of teams and keep a tight core, mixing in secondary value stacks to round out rosters. There are a number of viable goalies under $8,000 as well to take shots on in search of a 35+ save win to climb to the top of the leaderboard.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
