What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Moneyball16: Large-field GPPs – I think a lot of the ownership on this slate will go to CAR1, the studs on the Oilers and Maple Leafs, and to someone like Beckett Sennecke, but on a slate this big, there will be lots of good plays that get overlooked. The SEA/MTL game will have value, as will the Penguins and Rangers, and I think lines 1 and 3 for Anaheim will be overlooked as well.
boggslite: Large-field GPPs – Outside of Auston Matthews, many of the elite forwards draw difficult matchups on tonight’s slate. I won’t completely fade guys like Connor McDavid, Nikita Kucherov, or Kirill Kaprizov, but I prefer to spread my exposure around to teams like Montreal, Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Anaheim. I will also carry some risk by spending down at goalie, as I don’t love the upside from many of the expensive netminders.
Joda: Large-field GPPs are my preferred format tonight. Auston Matthews stands out as the best play on the slate, but Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are in action and possess slate-breaking upside no matter whom they play. Additionally, Carolina draws a strong matchup against a shaky San Jose Sharks defense. Two teams that could fly under the radar are Dallas against Minnesota and Anaheim against Pittsburgh, even though Beckett Sennecke should be a popular play at his tag in all formats.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
