NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings Expert Survey for Wednesday, October 16

Who is your favorite skater to spend up for in cash games?

TastefulTides: Nathan MacKinnon
boggslite: Auston Matthews

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

TastefulTides: Single-entry and small-field tournaments are my preferred formats. With such a small slate, I will have to make some stands. I think I will be fading the Toronto Maple Leafs on home ice. By no means do I think that is something that you must be doing, but there are teams that I like better. The Avalanche have started the season 0-3, but I think they will handle the Bruins on home ice. The Bruins aren’t as good defensively as the general public thinks it is. This is not the same Bruins team from a few years ago. Look for the top 6 of Colorado to have a big game and bring them their first victory of the season.

boggslite: I’m playing large-field contests on tonight’s small 4-game slate. I hand-build my lineups, and I will get creative in my builds by creating different mini stacks in the event that no particular game or line goes off. I plan to get about equal exposure to Auston Matthews and Nathan MacKinnon on home ice, as both players have high ceilings despite having somewhat difficult matchups.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
