What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
TastefulTides: I am almost exclusively a single-entry, smaller-field contest player. I sometimes take shots in higher dollar multi-entry GPPs. A strategy that I will be deploying and one that I often use is getting different with the goalie. There are many similarities when it comes to playing MLB DFS and NHL DFS. The biggest difference, in my opinion, is that goalies have a lot more variance than pitchers. So, while I may play a chalky stack like the Maple Leafs, I am likely going to try and get different with my goalie position.
boggslite: I’ll be playing the large-field tournaments with a slate full of superstars in exciting matchups. I plan to build around Auston Matthews or Connor McDavid and will take advantage of some of the depth value from teams like Montreal and Vancouver. I won’t be all-in on Matthews and McDavid, however, as there are plenty of other high-profile superstars worth targeting that could see much lower ownership.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
