NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, January 11

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

TastefulTides: Alex Tuch – Buffalo has the 4th-highest implied team total on the slate. It seems as if Vegas is finally catching up to how this Ottawa team is at both 5v5 and on the power play. Tuch and his line 1 mates have full correlation at even strength and on the power play. Ottawa has the second-worst penalty kill in the NHL, and they trail only the Sharks with a 71.43% kill rate. Tuch isn’t free, so his ownership will be depressed due to the options above and below him.

ezellmt: Tage Thompson – Thompson is coming off a bit of a bizarre game where he was completely blanked despite his team putting up 5 goals. I’m not too worried about this one-off, as the offense is still going to run through him, especially with Jeff Skinner out. The Sabres possess the 4th-highest implied team total of the night against a Senators team in free-fall. In two prior matchups against the Senators, he has 3 goals and an assist.

boggslite: Tage Thompson – It’s been a struggle for Thompson and the Sabres dealing with multiple key injuries throughout most of the season, but he is still shooting the puck at a high volume. Tonight, he draws arguably the most disappointing team in the NHL this season vs. the Senators, who own the league’s worst xGA/60 over the last 10 games and rank 31st in PK%.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
