NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, January 18
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
TastefulTides: Connor McDavid – We should have low ownership on a couple of the studs. The Oilers have won 11 games in a row and now get to face a banged-up Kraken team in Edmonton. McDavid on home ice at under $10,000 is always something that is going to be appealing, especially at low projected ownership.
ezellmt: David Pastrnak – We have a weird situation where several of the most expensive options won’t be extremely popular, but I think Pastrnak is my favorite. The Avalanche aren’t a scary defensive matchup, especially away from home. His -135 goal-scoring prop is the best on the slate.
boggslite: Nikita Kucherov – I don’t think Kucherov will be under-owned tonight, but with so many elite forwards available on tonight’s slate, ownership will likely be spread out, especially in GPPs. This is a great spot to load up on Kucherov and Tampa’s top-ranked power play facing a Wild team that has been decimated with injuries and ranks 28th in PK% this season.
