NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, December 5

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Moneyball16: Nathan MacKinnon – He is the top pay-up option on a slate where it is easier to find value than it is to find studs, and he has a good matchup. The Ducks don’t allow as many goals as they did last season. They’ve still allowed the 7th-most, but they are easily the team that has spent the most time killing penalties, with their opponents averaging 4.5 power plays a game.

ezellmt: Nathan MacKinnon – Our projections currently have him a full 4 points clear of the next-highest skater thanks to a juicy home matchup against the Ducks. The Avalanche have lost 3 straight games, and I think MacKinnon will be even more shot-happy than usual in an attempt to end the skid. The Ducks have taken the most penalties in the NHL, so MacKinnon should have plenty of time on the man advantage.

Joda: Nathan MacKinnon – My only reservation with the Colorado chalk is they have played a lot of hockey recently. Tonight marks their 4th game in 6 nights, one of which was Saturday against these same Ducks, where MacKinnon played almost 30 minutes in a shootout loss. In any case, Anaheim leads the NHL in minor penalties, so MacKinnon is the top play by a wide margin.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
