NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, January 16

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

Moneyball16: Brady Tkachuk – At home vs. a depleted Avalanche team that played last night is an underrated matchup. I don’t expect Ottawa to get much ownership, and the Tkachuk/Greig/Giroux line has looked great this year. They’ve maintained possession of the puck around 70% of the time in their short time together.

ezellmt: Brady Tkachuk – Tkachuk also has some extreme home/road splits. At home, he’s averaging 17.9 DK points compared to just 10.9 on the road. Most of this is due to a massive shot volume discrepancy (5.0 at home, 3.7 on the road). He faces the Avalanche, who are on the second of a back-to-back after all of their top options just logged heavy minutes.

Joda: Tim Stutzle – Roster construction is going to take DFS players down a path of an elite center, namely MacKinnon and the Ross Colton value. We should see the mid-tier get squeezed. I like taking a shot on Tim Stuetzle, who broke out of a slump with 4 assists in his last game. Stutzle could thrive against Colorado’s bottom six.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
