NHL DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, January 9
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Moneyball16: Elias Lindholm – On this slate, a matchup at home vs. Ottawa is going to go under the radar, and I think it’s worth looking at a number of Flames. Lindholm, specifically, has been shooting the puck more recently while playing with a pass-first player like Huberdeau. Historically, Lindholm has been a high-shooting player with a career 12.2% shooting rate, including 6 years in Calgary at 14.6%, so we should expect more than his 7.5% this season.
ezellmt: Elias Pettersson – After breaking the slate last night, no one will go back to the well with Pettersson and VAN1. In the two games since being put together, this trio has combined for 16(!) points. Yes, they’re on the second of a back-to-back, but they still possess a respectable team total of 3.3 goals.
Joda: Evan Bouchard – Bouchard continues to check in as the lowest-owned option from the Oilers’ top power-play unit. On Saturday, the elite forwards were all over 10%, yet Bouchard checked in at single-digit ownership in DraftKings’ main GPP.
