Slate Overview
Happy weekend everyone! Yes, Saturdays in the fall are for college football, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be for hockey too. I’ll definitely be watching Georgia-Ole Miss on the big TV and following the pucks along on my phone, iPad, and computer. It’s another solid Saturday night slate with 10 games. The Oilers are back in our lives for the first time since falling on their faces against the Sharks. The Kings, Penguins, Lightning, Avalanche, and Bruins all check in with implied team totals between 3.7 and 3.8 goals. Three other teams have an implied team total of 3.5, so this should lead to spread out ownership with such a high number of quality choices. Let’s break it all down.
Top Skaters
All of the studs at the top are in play. Everyone priced at $8500 is an absolute monster with slate-breaking upside and worthy of lineup consideration. Tonight, I wanted to highlight some midrange options in case you’re looking to stray from the stars and scrubs build that has become so popular.
Adrian Kempe
DraftKings $6,700
It’s strange to see Kempe’s price tag and not scoff at the high amount. He’s done nothing to show he’s not fully worthy of the price hike. After a slow start to the season, he’s been on an absolute tear ever since. Over his last 10 games, he has 14 points and is averaging 4.7 shots on goal per game. Tonight, he’ll be up against a Flyers team on the second night of a back-to-back who just allowed a hat trick against the Ducks. I expect he’ll carry some ownership but, as I mentioned above, he’s in the awkward mid-range where some will just opt up to some of the more expensive choices.
