Slate Overview

If you’re like me, you still have no idea what day it is, you’re ready for your kids to go back to school, and you’re already considering dropping at least a few of your New Year’s resolutions four days in. There is light at the end of the tunnel, my friends. There isn’t a Thursday Night Football game tonight, and DK has responded accordingly with some really nice contest offerings. There’s a $555 “Thursday Night Ice” contest with $25k to 1st and a $20 “Lamplighter” with $20k to First. Unlike earlier in the year, where these had some overlay or were undersized (as a reaction to the previous overlay), I expect these to fill, but not 4+ hours before lock.

The New York Rangers pop off the page due to a matchup at home against the lowly Blackhawks. The Jets and Flyers probably occupy the second Tier, although you could argue for a few other teams, too. There’s a shockingly low amount of news that I think we’ll need to monitor throughout the day as far as injuries, etc., but that can change. If it does, you’ll know about it in the Discord channel.

Let’s get into it.

CutSweats (a website and Twitter account dedicated to golf DFS, specifically sweating your players making the cut) had an awesome “Year in Review” type feature that outlined the players you played most, who won you the most money, who lost you the most money, etc. If there was an equivalent for NHL, I’d guess my two most profitable players would be Artemi Panarin and Nikita Kucherov.
