NC State vs. Purdue PrizePicks Predictions Today

Zach Edey More/Less Than 27.0 Points

Zach Edey has been a man among boys so far in this year’s NCAA Tournament, averaging 30 points on 16 field goal attempts per game. He scored 30 points in the opening round against Grambling, then had 23 points in only 27 minutes two days later as Purdue punched their ticket to the Sweet 16. Facing Gonzaga in the Sweet 16, Edey had 27 points on only 15 shot attempts in a 12-point Purdue victory. In Purdue’s first competitive game in their bracket, Edey dropped 40 points against Tennessee in 39 minutes. He took an astounding 22 free throw attempts. One thing is for certain with Edey – he is Purdue’s top offensive weapon. He’s capable of playing close to 40 minutes if the game script necessitates it, but he’s also capable of scoring efficiently in limited minutes if Purdue runs away in this contest. He’s been one of the better overall players in college basketball across the last month and is worth considering here as his team tries to advance to the National Championship Game.

PrizePicks is also offering a discounted line on Edey, MORE THAN 22.0 Points, for the next few hours.

DJ Burns Jr. More/Less Than 14.5 Points

DJ Burns Jr. has been on a tear of late, scoring at least 15 points in 5 of his last 6 contests. He had 16 points in the opening round of the tournament against Texas Tech and 24 points two days later against Oakland. Facing Duke in the Elite 8, Burns Jr. had 29 points in 29 minutes, shooting an efficient 13-for-19 from the floor. Assuming we can throw away the Marquette game as an outlier, Burns Jr. is a player who is capable of flirting with 20+ points this evening, even in a tough matchup. His volume and his efficiency have been excellent of late, and he shows very little sign of slowing down.

Lance Jones More/Less Than 11.5 Points

Lance Jones is averaging only 8.5 points per game in four tournament games entering play on Saturday, but it hasn’t been due to a lack of volume. Jones has received at least 28 minutes of playing time and attempted at least 7 shots in each of his last three games, but he’s shooting only 40% in that stretch. Tonight, facing a more beatable defensive opponent, Jones should be competitive at this number, and he should have every opportunity to score at least a dozen points. There is a reason the market is still respecting him enough to expect double digits from him in this spot.
