Week 7

My friends, it feels good to be back on the winning side of DFS. If you locked in Josh Allen and played Stefon Diggs and/or Ja’Marr Chase, you had an extremely high chance of cashing in any format. Rhamondre Stevenson, Kenneth Walker, and Mark Andrews also had monster outings that helped a number of my lineups get well above the cash line. I’m still searching for that first GPP win of the season, but at least the bankroll has a bit more padding heading into Week 7.

This week’s slate is much different than the last, as we are missing many of the superstar players and we don’t have the overwhelming amount of running back value. It was almost too easy to make lineups last week, but that’s unlikely to be the case this week. There are still a couple of days for value to open up, but the salary cap looks like it will be a lot tighter in Week 6. This leads to much uglier lineups overall and as I mentioned a few weeks ago, we have to embrace the difficulty.

With the NBA back in full swing, I will try to be more concise this week. Who am I kidding? You all deserve the best. Week 7… let’s get it.

Quarterback

My thoughts at quarterback generally agree with the different projection models around the industry, but I like some off the board plays this week. We don’t have the obvious spend-up option with Josh Allen, so quarterback ownership should be a bit more spread out this week.

Tier 1 (Expert Plays)

Jackson has been more boom or bust than we’ve seen over the last few seasons. He has topped 40 fantasy points in two games and has been held under 22 fantasy points in the other four games. The Ravens are hoping to have Rashod Bateman back this week, which would give them a much-needed deep threat. Jackson’s numbers against the blitz were unsustainably good the first three weeks and we’ve seen those come back down to earth recently. However, the Browns have been one of the worst defenses in the league this season. They are bottom six against the run and the pass and it’s not like the Ravens are forcing the ball to their running backs. If Jackson is going to get overlooked in an elite matchup at home, sign me up.
