Notorious Makes DraftDay BLB Finals, DSBC Elite 8

Notorious (Ranked #7) is on a run like we’ve never seen before. He’s locked up $28,500 at a minimum, and can still walk away with up to $150,000 in two of the biggest MLB Championship events this season. Tonight he squares off in the finals of the DraftDay Big League Blast and the Elite 8 of the DraftStreet DSBC, both Bracket format events.

On DraftDay Notorious qualified for the event through a $109 GPP Qualifier, becoming one of 32 finalists. Once in the finals he ousted driverseati in Round 1, BigRedMachine (who had 3 final entries) in Round 2, MBomb44 (Ranked #2) in Round 3, and RunItUp (#2 on DraftDay’s leaderboard) in the Final 4. Tonight he’ll take on MattGoody who had the highest score in the Final 4. – I personally remember the first time I beat MattGoody in a head-to-head on DraftDay. After beating me in about my first 10 games straight, it was a huge accomplishment. MattGoody is indeed very ‘goody’. It should be a great matchup tonight.

Over on DraftStreet, Notorious took a slightly different path to arrive at the Elite 8. He won two of 40 finals seats by winning two GPPs. Once in the finals the 40-man field played out a 2-day contest where the 12 highest combined scores advanced. One of Notorious’ entries made the Top 12 while the second became a cut-casualty. Taking a 9 seed into the Final Bracket (image below) Notorious advanced to the Elite 8 by sailing by RTSell69 in his first match. STLCardinals84 (Ranked 5th) and Maxdalury (Ranked 8th) also advanced.

Notorious if showing his head-to-head prowess as he continues to advance in these bracket-format championship events, but don’t underestimate his GPP acumen either. In addition to qualifying to the 2013 FanDuel DSBBC finals, it took Notorious winning 3 large-field GPPs just to qualify for these events. Let’s take a look at the Standings and Matchups for these two, awesome events:
