Notorious' NFL DFS Core Plays: Week 9
I don’t know about everyone else, but Week 8 was one of the craziest slates that I can ever remember when it came to lineup building. I do not play 150+ lineups like many, but instead focus on one main lineup that I use in cash games and small-field GPPs and then I build three or four GPP lineups to get exposure to my favorite stacks. I kid you not, I changed my main lineup at least 30 times on Sunday morning. In fact, I didn’t settle on my final lineup until a minute or two before lock. I couldn’t get the salaries to work for Derrick Henry or Alvin Kamara as my RB3 and ended up using Dalvin Cook instead. He single-handedly carried my team to a win. It was a rare week where my constant tinkering actually paid off.
The main source of confusion last week was the weather, as many of the best games had 30+ MPH winds. There are still two days until lineups lock (I am writing this on Friday morning), but Kevin Roth only has two games listed as YELLOW for the week — it might rain in the Texans/Jaguars game and we could have 15-20 MPH winds in the Saints/Buccaneers game (not on the main slate). This is music to my ears, as we only have to adjust for injuries on Sunday morning. As always, make sure to check back here an hour before kickoff for my final thoughts on the slate. I appreciate each and every one of you reading my articles each week and am always here to answer any strategy or player-related questions.
