Legacy Shootout
While the GCU Championship next week is the last tournament on the Outlaw Tour schedule, I have some good news for everyone — the Golden Cup Tour picks up the week after. While we have only been able to sweat the Outlaw Tour in nine-hole segments, that is expected to change this week (you can track the scores at the Outlaw’s Tour site, powered by BlueGolf). They have decided to periscope the next three tournaments and potentially more if it goes well. As for the PGA Tour, the first event on the revised schedule is the Fort Worth Invitational that starts on June 11th. While it’s great to have a plan in place and something to mark on our calendars, it is still seven weeks away.
If you need an introduction to Outlaw Golf or showdown scoring on DraftKings, feel free to check out last week’s article. This week’s two-day event has 57 golfers in the field and will be held at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a rare Par 71 that features four par fives and five par threes. It measures only 6,801 yards (closer to 7,000 on the course’s site), which is shorter than every Par 70 course on the PGA Tour. Based on the course’s picture gallery, wayward drives could find some trouble here. Unfortunately, this doesn’t help narrow down our player pool since we don’t know the course fit of each golfer in the field.
