OwnersBox MLB DFS Format
What is up, Grinders? We are here to talk about OwnersBox. This site is very creative for MLB, as it has given us what we’ve been craving for what feels like an eternity. We are getting incredible flexibility for all positions. It consists of a pitcher spot, 4 infield positions, 4 outfield positions, and a Superflex, which will allow you to play any position including pitching. How many days have you wanted to play 5 first-basemen because of how deep the position is? OwnersBox is here to give you that fix and allow very creative lineup building. This is revolutionary for the DFS enthusiast, and I am here to talk through a handful of plays each week that I hope carry us to the finish line.
Top MLB DFS Picks for Wednesday, May 15th
Corey Seager – ($6,100)
This is a great spot for Seager against a struggling, and old, Carlos Carrasco. I love the fact that Seager is continuing to rake against RHP. He’s keeping his K percentage low and his walks up to go along with an incredible .414 wOBA and a .274 ISO since the start of last season. Cookie Carrasco is having a very poor season against lefties. He has allowed a ton of power, a .393 wOBA, and he has just an 18% K rate. Seager is one of the top plays on the slate, and I’m hoping he puts up the performance we are looking for.
Max Kepler – ($4,000)
Kepler is having a really nice season at the plate so far. With a 15.1% K rate and .219 wOBA against RHP, it’s easy to see why he should be considered today. He’s facing Marcus Stroman, and while Stroman has typically been a good real-life pitcher, he’s been struggling as of late. He’s been significantly worse against lefties this season, with a K rate 6 percentage points lower to that side of the plate. He has also allowed a ton of power, with a .435 wOBA that is through the roof. This is fantastic for a guy like Kepler, and if he makes good contact, we could see a huge performance from him.
Taj Bradley – ($7,700)
Bradley has the ability to be ELECTRIC, and I think he has a shot to flash some of that upside tonight. Boston is definitely improving as the season goes along, but I still think he has some strikeout upside. Last season, he ended with a 28% K rate, and he is off to a fantastic start in 2024, with a 29% K rate through his 1 start. I think he settles in somewhere around last season at the end of it all, which means there are some good days ahead. He’s likely going to face 4 bats that are over a 24% K rate against RHP this season and 7 over 20%. If he can keep his control together and limit the run damage, I think he does extremely well for his price point.
This is actually a very interesting slate, with a few good pitchers and a handful of offenses. I think taking some stands is the way to go. Let’s take down this GPP tonight, Grinders!
