NFL fans will be treated to a marquee Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 15, with Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers traveling to play Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Ahead of kickoff, oddsmakers have priced the Packers as 2.5-point road favorites on the spread. The total is set at 47 points.

Let’s take a deeper look at the matchup to see where NFL bettors can find value at sportsbooks.

According to Evan Abrams of The Action Network, Sunday Night Football totals are 39-19 (67%) to the under since the beginning of 2022, including 36-14 during the regular season. In 2024, the under is 10-4 in these primetime matchups.

Green Bay Preview

What to expect from Love, Packers offense

The most notable injury news for the Packers this week is centered around WR Romeo Doubs, who is set to return to the field after a multi-week absence due to a concussion. Doubs had been playing well leading up to his injury, with 54+ receiving yards in 3 of 5 games from Week 7 to Week 12.

The return of Doubs could force WR Christian Watson into a lesser role despite back-to-back strong performances with Doubs inactive. Watson has thrived as a deep threat the last two weeks, with 6 receptions totaling 181 receiving yards in that span.

Doubs returning to the field gives QB Jordan Love another strong pass-catching option to add to an already potent aerial attack. Since Week 11, Green Bay’s passing attack ranks 5th in EPA/play and 5th in success rate, even though they haven’t been at full strength. This is a group that can put points on the board in a hurry.

Alexander remains OUT

All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander has been ruled out for Sunday Night Football and will miss his 5th consecutive contest. Alexander, one of the league’s best cornerbacks, last played a full allotment of snaps in Week 8. In his absence, Green Bay’s pass defense ranks 18th in EPA/play and 31st in success rate. Since Week 9, every quarterback to face the Packers has completed at least 21 passes, with all but one of them going over their pre-game market number for completions.

Seattle Seahawks Preview

Walker listed as DOUBTFUL

After not practicing at all this week due to a calf injury, RB Kenneth Walker is officially listed as doubtful ahead of kickoff this evening. Walker missed games early this season (Weeks 2 and 3), so we have a decent blueprint for what to expect from Seattle’s offense in his absence. In those games, RB Zach Charbonnet received 32 of the 35 carries that went to the running back position, including all 5 of the team’s red-zone rush attempts and both goal-line carries.

Last week, with Walker out again, Charbonnet had 22 carries for 134 rushing yards against the Cardinals, so there is recent proof of concept in his ability to perform at a high level as well. RB Kenny McIntosh rotated in for 7 carries in that contest, but Charbonnet had all 4 of the team’s goal-line attempts. He has a tough task tonight against a capable Green Bay run defense, but he should have plenty of opportunities to make plays as the clear leader of this backfield.

Seattle defense trending up since the bye

From Week 1 to Week 9, Seattle’s defense ranked 20th in EPA/play and 22nd in success rate. Since the team’s Week 10 bye, however, this unit has been trending up, ranking 2nd in EPA/play and 6th in success rate. Perhaps most impressive is the fact that the Seahawks’ defense ranks in the top 5 in EPA/play and success rate against both the run and the pass during those games.

This unit has been making life difficult on their opponents of late. Tonight will be a good litmus test for them, facing a Green Bay offense that has scored 30+ points in each of their last 3 games.

Packers vs. Seahawks Prediction

Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur is 28-17-1 ATS (62%) against teams with a winning record in his career, which is the 3rd-best market of any head coach in that span, per Evan Abrams. LaFleur has also excelled on extended rest, with a 16-9 SU and 14-11 ATS record.

The Packers’ defense has missed CB Jaire Alexander, but his absence hasn’t completely derailed the team’s season. Since Week 9, Green Bay is 3-2, with both of their losses coming against the Lions. In their 3 wins, they have held their opponents to 19 points or fewer.

The Seahawks’ defense has been playing well since their bye, but they haven’t faced an offense with nearly as many weapons as the one they will host tonight on Sunday Night Football. Jordan Love and the Packers should be able to find a way to come away with a win.

PICK: Packers -2.5 (-118, DraftKings)
