We have ourselves a very quiet Monday night in the National Hockey League with just two games on the docket. The Carolina Hurricanes and the Calgary Flames are your favorites, and none of the four teams in action are playing on consecutive nights.

Scott Darling, Carolina Hurricanes & Mike Smith, Calgary Flames – It is a tough night to trust a goaltender for cash games, but if you are going that route, Scott Darling tops the list. Not only are the Carolina Hurricanes the biggest favorite this evening, but Darling is also very inexpensive to roster. If you are strictly playing GPPs (which is what I would suggest you do tonight on this two-game slate), you could certainly make a case for all four goalies in action, but Mike Smith is the leading candidate for me, as he is likely to see plenty of shots. Smith has been very good as a member of the Flames (2.55 GAA, .924 SV%), and if Calgary wins this game, it will be because of Smith, and he is the only goalie with 35-plus save potential this evening.
