Charles Schwab Challenge
Alright, guys, we are back from pandemic lockdown and resuming our PGA DFS lives with the Charles Schwab Challenge, played at Colonial in Fort Worth, TX.
First off, I do want to say I hope each of you and your families have remained safe during this time and you’re excited to get back to some “normalcy” here this week. Colonial is a traditional style course, although not long by scorecards standards, it is only a Par 70 so the 7200 yards plays slightly on the long side. That being said, you can’t really pound drivers here so you are limited if trying to take advantage off-the-tee.
For this reason I am primarily focused on longer term wGIR numbers, which incorporates all tournaments, weighted to the field. I find this has shown the best 2nd shot targets on any course, particularly that it weighs tee shots equally. We obviously have huge prize pools this week, so the instinct is to try to differentiate for the Milly Maker or large-field Mini-Max. I would encourage you to stick to your normal process, ownership should be pretty spread out and don’t overdo it and leave hundreds and thousands of dollars on the table for your lineups. I would cap ownership, but also use a minimum Salary of 49,600 maybe creeping down to 49,200 if you want to get some other combos. Otherwise, this week should be fun trying to determine who will come back from the layoff ready to play. Let’s take a look at the values I think will have the least issue with that…
