PGA DFS Showdown Picks and Projections – Round 2
While my main slate lineup is far from cashing after Round 1, there is still plenty of golf to be played. Honestly, the worst place you can be after Thursday in a no-cut event is leading a tournament in DFS. I hate to tell you, but that is not going to hold up over the next three days. Quail Hollow Club is an awesome course for the PGA TOUR because there are such a wide variety of scores. A bad round doesn’t mean even par like at some of the birdie fests. We currently have a 12-stroke difference between the leader (Xander Schauffele) and the three golfers tied for last place (we don’t need to shame them here). We can expect a lot of movement on the leaderboard in Round 2.
As far as the forecast for Friday, there certainly seems to be an edge for those going out early. However, they are going off split tees and in groups of three, so there is only a two-hour difference between the first and last tee times. On top of that, the first tee time isn’t until 11:00 AM ET and the wind starts to pick up around 1:00 PM ET. We also have the issue of weather being volatile. There could be a small edge for the earliest tee times, but I won’t be forcing them into my lineups.
