That was the craziest cut sweat in the history of PGA DFS. About 90 minutes before the end of the round, the odds of the cut moving to +6 were 0.01%, according to DataGolf. I figured all of my golfers at +6 were toast and thought the group made cut parlay we made in the RG Discord was dead after Si Woo Kim three-putted from five feet on his final hole. We are programmed to remember the bad more than the good, but I will always remind myself of Round 2 at The Masters where everything broke the right way to move the cut. Unfortunately, we have to pour one out for Justin Thomas and Wyndham Clark, who melted down the stretch and missed the cut.
There were so many highlights from the first couple of rounds. Viktor Hovland missed a 3-inch putt, Bryson DeChambeau was carrying around a big sign, Zach Johnson was caught swearing at the patrons, and oh, there was some incredible golf played. My favorite was watching Tiger Woods break the all-time consecutive cut record at The Masters. We now turn our attention to moving day at Augusta National. It won’t be nearly as windy as Friday, but the forecast still calls for 10+ MPH winds and 20+ MPH gusts. There’s not much of an edge in terms of tee times, but the course should be a little softer in the morning. We already saw it getting baked out late Friday afternoon.
