PrizePicks College Football Selections - Week 12

Happy Friday, Grinders! We have an intriguing college football weekend on tap, and I wanted to throw out a quick article with some college football options over at PrizePicks.

PrizePicks is different from your normal DFS site in that you simply have to pick whether a player will go over or under a set fantasy point total. Essentially it’s a props-based DFS hybrid platform. If you want to check it out, you can use promo code GRINDERS for a 100% deposit match bonus up to $100!

Here are a few picks that I like for the Friday and Saturday games this weekend based on what is currently posted. PrizePicks does occasionally move the O/U lines a little bit, so your mileage may vary slightly from the totals shown here.

Friday College Football Picks

Micale Cunningham OVER 28 – Louisville is a team that often relies on their running game, but star back Javian Hawkins has opted out for the rest of the season. This is going to put more of the offensive load on quarterback Micale Cunningham, who RAN for a 20/197/2 line in last week’s loss to Virginia. Louisville also gets the benefit of playing a completely atrocious Syracuse team this week, so Cunningham should be able to put up huge numbers.

Rashad Bateman UNDER 21 – Bateman is one of the best receivers in college football and undoubtedly has an NFL future, but Minnesota has to take a long look in the mirror heading into this game. Their offense this year has literally been: run, run, throw to Bateman, run, throw to Bateman. That’s it. Teams have figured them out, and they are coming off an embarrassing home loss to Iowa. I do expect Minnesota to be competitive tonight, but they should look to involve their other pass catchers. Bateman has half of the team’s targets this year, and that simply won’t help them win games. Look for Autman-Bell to be more involved in this game.

Zander Horvath OVER 21.6 – Speaking of the above, a major portion of Minnesota’s struggles has been that… their defense can’t stop anyone. They are allowing almost 450 yards of offense per game, and teams are running the ball at will against them. Look for Purdue to get Zander Horvath involved early and often on the ground. He had back-to-back 100+ yard performances to start the year before getting bottled up against Northwestern, but he salvaged that game with 9 catches for 100 yards. Minnesota will have no answer for him, so take the over on a mark of 21-22 fantasy points.

Bobby Cole UNDER 15.2 – Based on our projections, this one is a fairly comfortable pick — we have Cole projected for only 11 fantasy points. The New Mexico / Air Force game will likely be one that has a fast moving clock, as we know Air Force will run the ball and take the air out of it. Cole does not have a 100 yard rushing game yet this season, and I don’t expect that trend to end tonight.

Saturday College Football Picks

There aren’t too many picks for Saturday posted yet, but here are a couple of my favorites based on the early options that are available.

Dillon Gabriel UNDER 30 – Dillon Gabriel is fantastic, but this will be the toughest regular season test that he faces. Cincinnati has a legitimately elite defense, as they have not given up more than 20 points in any of their first seven games. Don’t fall for the name value; Gabriel will have a tougher time slinging it this week.

Trevor Lawrence OVER 29 – Whenever Lawrence is active, he seems like a lock for four touchdowns. If he wants to get back in the Heisman race after missing two games, a big performance is a necessity this week. Florida State is a dumpster fire, and our projections have Lawrence sitting at around 36 fantasy points. He’s definitely a better option than Gabriel and will be a key selection for me on PrizePicks.
