NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today
Fred VanVleet More/Less Than 20.5 Points + Rebounds
The Rockets are rolling. They enter Friday’s clash against the Jazz in Salt Lake City as winners of 10 straight games, and they’re right on the Warriors’ heels for the final play-in spot out West. Tonight, they’ll draw one of the more advantageous matchups of the night against a Utah team that’s ranked among the league’s worst defenses over the past few months.
The recent exploits of Jalen Green and Amen Thompson have drawn headlines with Alperen Sengun out injured, but Fred VanVleet has been a steadying hand all year long for this team. VanVleet is routinely playing around 40 minutes in competitive games, and he’s seen a solid 3.7% bump in usage with Sengun off the floor.
The Jazz have had a tough time stopping anybody lately, but VanVleet has played particularly well against them. He’s averaging 26 points and 4 rebounds in 2 meetings with Utah on the season, including a 34-point demolition job against the Jazz just last week. He’s capable of getting you there on points alone tonight.
- PrizePicks PLAY: Less Than 20.5 Points + Rebounds
Paolo Banchero More/Less Than 21.5 Points
The Magic are flying under the radar out east, but they’re going to breeze their way to a playoff spot. That’s no small story for a franchise that hasn’t played postseason basketball since the 2019-20 campaign, and their seemingly endless rebuild is finally bearing fruit.
Tonight’s Clippers-Magic affair should be a decent real-life matchup, but it’s safe to expect this one to be a low-scoring defensive slugfest, as well. That’s just kinda how these teams prefer to play. Banchero also gets a tough individual draw here, as the Clippers can throw Kawhi Leonard and/or Paul George at him for 35-40 minutes.
Paolo’s offensive efficiency has improved in his 2nd pro campaign, but it’s easy to see how he could struggle to put points on the board in this one.
- PrizePicks PLAY: Less Than 21.5 Points
Ayo Dosunmu More/Less Than 18.5 Points + Assists
Coby White is a Most Improved Player candidate this season, but he may have to fend off one of his own teammates for the award. That’s because Ayo Dosunmu has enjoyed a breakout campaign of his own, which has been a silver lining of the long-term Lonzo Ball injury for Chicago.
Ayo has posted relatively modest averages of 11.9 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.8 rebounds for the season, but that doesn’t do service to his recent numbers. So far in March, Dosunmu is contributing 17.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds while logging over 37 minutes a night. Dosunmu has also set new career highs for points in a game twice already this month.
The Nets team the Bulls will face tonight isn’t offering much defensive resistance these days, and we can reasonably expect Dosunmu to challenge for 40 minutes as long as the score stays relatively respectable.
