NBA PrizePicks Predictions Today

Jaylen Brown More/Less Than 10.5 Rebounds + Assists

Jaylen Brown did a little bit of everything for Boston in Game 1, finishing with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists in a whopping 44 minutes of action (including OT). Brown also drilled a game-tying 3-pointer in the waning seconds of regulation to send the game to the extra 5-minute session.

During the regular season, the former All-Star contributed 9.1 combined rebounds and assists in an average of 33.5 minutes per game. He’s at 9.3 combined boards and dimes per game through the Celtics’ first 11 playoff games. His rebounds are slightly up, while his assists are down.

The matchup with Indiana has been fruitful for fantasy production all season, of course. However, across 5 regular-season meetings with the Pacers, Brown averaged a paltry 1.2 assists per game. While he will occasionally spike a big assists game, he’s generally out there to score.

T.J. McConnell More/Less Than 14.5 Points + Assists

T.J. McConnell became a cult hero during the Sixers’ rebuild to begin his career, and he’s since moved on to Indiana, where he’s… become a cult hero again. The 32-year-old veteran is coming off of the most productive statistical season of his career, during which he averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 assists despite playing just 18.2 minutes per game, largely off the Pacers’ bench.

With All-Star Tyrese Haliburton entrenched as the franchise point guard, there are only so many minutes left for McConnell. He did log 25 minutes in Game 1, however, including about 2 minutes in overtime. McConnell has been incredibly productive this season even in limited minutes, and he was actively looking to score in the first game. T.J. attempted 11 shots from the field in that one, which led the Pacers’ reserves.

We have McConnell projected for 23 minutes in tonight’s Game 2. There’s margin for error on either side of that projection, but I trust his production enough to believe he can get us there.

Derrick White More/Less Than 31 Fantasy Points

Derrick White has been among the most improved players in the league this season, and the Celtics wouldn’t be where they are without him. The ex-Spur averaged 15.2 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game on efficient shooting from every level. That includes impressive 39.6% marksmanship from 3-point country on a career-high 6.8 attempts per game.

The Celtics haven’t been forced to play a ton of close playoff games just yet, but White’s likely to play around 40 minutes if Indiana can keep it close again this evening. White averaged a healthy 1.01 FD FP/minute during the regular season, and we should see a minimum of 35 minutes tonight if the game is reasonably competitive.
