The four NBA games games I’m watching alongside the World Series are the Lakers vs. Cavaliers, Celtics vs. Pacers, Knicks vs. Heat, and Pelicans vs. Warriors. Another player I’m picking to have a down game is Tyrese Haliburton when the Pacers face the Celtics. The Celtics are one of the best defenses in the NBA with Jrue Holiday and Derrick White looking to clamp him down. I think Haliburton could be in for a struggle similarly to how he was against the Knicks a couple games ago.
On the other side of the coin, I think Jalen Brunson will have his best game of the season. Brunson has been good but hasn’t yet had an explosive performance like we’re accustomed to seeing. While Miami’s defense has done well against lesser competition, I think the Knicks are the toughest opponent they’ve faced and will be a lot to handle with Brunson leading the charge.
Finally, I think you can find good value on Brandin Podziemski as the Warriors face the Pelicans without the services of Steph Curry. Podziemski is an imperfect player, but his role will likely increase out of necessity until Curry returns. The Pelicans’ defense is middle of the pack, so I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility to see Podziemski have a good game.
