Let’s take a deeper look at the matchup to see where NFL bettors can find value at sportsbooks in this contest.
Baltimore Ravens Preview
Baltimore offensive line healthy for first time since season opener
According to Jamison Hensley, right tackle Morgan Moses will play on Sunday, making it the first time since Week 1 that Baltimore will have their optimal offensive line healthy and on the field at the same time. Moses has been one of the best offensive lineman in the NFL in recent seasons, making his return to the field particularly important for this group. Per PFF, Moses ranks 7th out of 69 qualified offensive tackles as a run blocker in 2023 and 19th as a pass blocker.
From Week 1 to Week 3, with Moses healthy, the Ravens had the fifth-best success rate of any offense in the NFL. Across the subsequent two weeks, Baltimore’s offense dropped to 24th in success rate. Expect this group, led by Lamar Jackson, to have a bounce back performance on Sunday with their offensive line finally healthy.
Ravens defense mostly healthy heading to London
Linebacker Ofafe Oweh has been ruled out for this weekend’s action against Tennessee, but the rest of the Baltimore defense is healthy heading into this matchup. Even having dealt with a myriad of injuries early in 2023, the Ravens’ defense ranks 2nd in EPA/play and 2nd in success rate through the first five weeks of the campaign. This unit has been tough against both the run and the pass – ranking in the top-seven in both dropback success rate and rush success rate defensively. Facing a struggling Tennessee offense on Sunday, Baltimore is well-positioned for another strong showing.
Tennessee Titans Preview
Ryan Tannehill off to slow start this fall
Ryan Tannehill enters play in Week 6 ranked 21st out of 28 qualified quarterbacks in passer rating from a clean pocket and 27th in passer rating when under pressure, according to PFF. Tannehill ranks 18th in EPA/play and 30th in success rate, among 32 signal callers who qualify for those two metrics. Simply, he has not played well so far this season and there is little evidence to suggest that there is reason to be optimistic for better days ahead.
Tannehill has been particularly poor when under pressure this year, completing only 43.9% of his pass attempts for 4.6 yards per attempt. He has thrown only one touchdown against three interceptions in such situations. He draws another difficult matchup on Sunday against a Baltimore defense that will be nearing 100 percent health.
Titans’ defense struggling to get pressure
In their first five games, Tennessee’s defense has been worse than the league average team when it comes to getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks. In Week 5, the Titans once again struggled in this area, generating pressure on only 22.7% of Indianapolis Colts’ dropbacks.
In Week 6, the defense is likely to struggle once again, with multiple players dealing with injuries. Safety Elijah Molden did not travel with the team to London, which means that he will miss Sunday’s contest. Molden last played a full allotment of snaps in Week 2. Since that point, the Titans’ secondary unit ranks 27th in Dropback EPA/play and 24th in dropback success rate. Defensive lineman Teair Tart practiced in a limited capacity on Friday, but did not practice at all earlier this week, meaning that he is likely to be at less than 100 percent even if he takes the field. Tart is fourth on the Tennessee defense in quarterback pressures this season, despite not playing in Week 5.
There are not a lot of good points to highlight about this group ahead of kickoff.
Ravens vs. Titans Prediction & Pick
Last time Baltimore played in London, they suffered a 37-point loss, which remains tied for the largest margin of defeat in franchise history, per ESPN. Hoping to rewrite the narrative this time around, the team arrived in England on Monday afternoon instead of on Friday. The early arrival combined with the significant talent advantage that Baltimore possesses in this matchup should be enough for them to get off to a quick start on Sunday. The Ravens have value as a first-half favorite in this spot.
PICK: Ravens -2.5 – 1st Half Spread (-130, Fanatics Sportsbook)
