In Case You Missed It
- Hits are NOT on Sale – After missing a month of playing time, White Sox hurler Chris Sale came back in style last night, retiring his first 17 batters without allowing a hit. He ended up pitching six scoreless innings in which he only allowed one hit overall. Not a bad night for a guy on his first day back who has historically dominated the Bronx Bombers. He only threw 86 pitches, but he certainly made them count, and with his 10Ks in six innings, you were probably pleased if you used him last night, regardless of his price.
- Canadiens Strike Back – The Rangers went into Game 3 last night up 2-0 with a chance to really take control of the series. It looked like the Habs had the game locked up after taking a 2-1 lead late in the third period, but Chris Keider banked a shot off of Alexei Emelin skate and into the goal with 29 seconds left. New York wasn’t able to take advantage of the tie, however because the Canadiens went into overtime and scored the game winning goal to make the series now 2-1 in favor of the Rangers. Game 4 will be hosted by the Rangers at MSG.
- Fielder Finished for the Season – According to ESPN, Prince Fielder will soon undergo season-ending surgery to repair a herniated disk in his neck. This is of course terrible news for him, and if you have him in your season longs I feel for you, especially since he doesn’t really have a history of injuries. The bright side is this is a Daily Fantasy site, so what the hell are you doing playing season long still??
Today’s Events
- Tonight’s Action – We have another full action Friday on our hands in the MLB tonight. All 30 teams are on the schedule, and every game starts after 7 PM EST, which should lead to plenty of great DFS action. Clayton Kershaw will face off against a Phillies offense that seems to be one of those MLB lineups that either scores 12 runs or puts up a doughnut lately, so I suppose we’ll see if he can make it out of the second inning this time around (read: I’m bitter).
