rotogrinders_user_23226

Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed It

DraftKings Has a Big Announcement- If you follow DraftKings on Twitter or Facebook, you probably saw this video clip yesterday teasing a big announcement. The actual announcement will not be until Thursday though. Even though the announcement could be just about anything, here at RotoGrinders we had some of our own ideas. No one loves speculation and rumors more than our forum members. Feel free to join the discussion here on what the announcement could be. We have already had some interesting suggestions. Mine was pre-season MLB DFS. Maybe that is simply because I’m excited for MLB in less than 45 days.

James Harden Also Has an Announcement – James Harden would like for you to know he is good at basketball. Last night, Harden and his 80% ownership in cash games wanted to let you know you would not win without him. Harden dropped a triple double en route to 66.2 FanDuel points. Allow me to paraphrase Dan Back here: if you didn’t have Harden, well, you lost. Even if you had Harden, you still might have lost. Last night was one of the higher scoring DFS nights I have seen. Let’s check some scores…

Big Winners – The full list of last night’s tournament links are in this forum thread. In the FanDuel Slam, sjnboyoo31 narrowly edged out grinders mrhaha and ehafner for a first place finish. In the $25 WFBBC Qualifier, ssbledsoe bested ehafner, mrhaha, and stevietpfl to win a trip to Vegas. Over on DraftKings petteytheft89 stole a victory from primetime420 and rayofhope in the 3-Ball. In the DK WFBBC Qualifier, bigapple2345 edged out rayofhope and dinkpiece to win himself a trip to Vegas. Overall, lots of Grinders had strong showings last night.

On the Menu for Today

Just for Kicks – Allow me to pitch an idea to you. NBA is becoming difficult to win at. It’s time to learn a new sport. A four-game soccer slate kicks off at 2:45 PM EST today. DraftKings has a over $50K in guaranteed prizes sitting in the lobby waiting for you. Are you interested? I thought so. Here is how we are going to take down today’s contests. #NarrativeStreet has been working in NBA right? Let’s find some #Narratives for soccer. Former Liverpool star Luis Suarez returns to England to face Manchester City. When asked about the matchup, Suarez said, they have some good strikers but they are weak on the back end. You know what this means, right? We now have a #HomecomingGame for Suarez matched up against a #BulletinBoardMaterial game for the MCY backers. Fire up Suarez with confidence today. Arsenal manager Arsene Wegner used to manage Monaco from 87’-94’. I’m sure his former team is looking for some #Revenge today. Besides that, we also have Lionel Messi, who is pretty much out for blood every game no matter who the opponent. Fire him up with confidence and also check out our Tues/Weds UCL Plays from Bufflosoldier here and picks from ernestkiko here.

On the Hardwood – Tonight’s NBA slate only offers four games. Notorious has you covered with his First Look. Later today we will have the usual offerings, including the NBA Grind Down and Starting Five as well as two hours of NBA analysis starting at 4:30 PM EST on GrindersLive. That’s great, but I already know what you are thinking. Are there any narratives tonight? Well sort of, they are just the kind of Narratives we make up on our own. For example, Russell Westbrook needs 71 points to reach 10,000 for his career. Tonight is a Russell Westbrook #MilestoneWatch, and he probably will get 71 the way things have been going. Other than that, I got nothing. I guess we will have to rely on actual research for tonight.

On the Ice – Did you guys enjoy that two-game NHL slate last night? Cory Schneider was by far the top play and he did not disappoint. He did his best James Harden impression, making sure no one cashed without him. He racked up 38 saves during a shutout win. Short slates are fun! Anyways, tonight looks much better for NHL DFS with 11 games on the schedule. I don’t play a lot of NHL, but last time I recommended Minnesota they did not disappoint. I’m going “Wild” again tonight and riding with the Pominville/Parise line against Edmonton. If you don’t like my advice, that’s okay. We will have the usual offerings today on RotoGrinders, including NHL Daily Plays, GPP Plays, and the Frozen Five. Pepsi7 and boggslite will also be on The Daily Fantasy Faceoff at 3:30 PM EST on GrindersLive.

On the Hardwood, College Edition – Last, but certainly not least, college basketball returns to action with 11 games. FanDuel and DraftKings each have about $20K in guaranteed prizes in the lobby. Varncass will have his CBB Grind Down and expert picks available for incentive subscribers.

With that my friends it it time to say goodbye until tomorrow. Good luck out there today Grinders, and remember the Rise and Grind mantra, “Narratives never lie, unless they do”.
