Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we run over yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed it

Super Bowl Media Day – In case you were unaware, Marshawn Lynch is not a big fan of press conferences. At yesterday’s Super Bowl media day, he answered every question with: ‘I’m just here so I don’t get fined’. Though Lynch said only the same eight words over and over, he managed to set Twitter on fire with #HotTakes. Here at the R&G we love #HotTakes. Lynch deserves all the anger being directed at him right now. How dare he disrespect Media Day like this. Doesn’t he understand how serious this is? A radio station sent his guy dressed in only a barrel to cover the event. You couldn’t take 30 minutes of your time to answer barrel guy’s questions, Mr. Lynch? Shame on you.

He’s Tough – He’s a Hockey Player – After watching Lynch’s press conference, I started thinking. What other athletes are just here to avoid getting fined? Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has never been accused of mailing it in. Letang suffered a concussion before the All-Star break, and he was questionable to play last night. This is hockey we are talking about though. You think Letang was going to let something as small as a brain injury stop him from playing? No way! Not only did Letang play, he assisted on all five of the Penguins’ goals. This is the type of performance Letang will one day tell his grandkids about, if he can remember it. Thank you, Mr. Letang, for understanding society’s need for entertainment and then delivering.

”I’m just about that action, boss” – While Lynch answered every question this year with “I’m just here so I don’t get fined”, his answer to every question last year was “I’m just about that action, boss.” That was a much more acceptable answer. Here at the R&G, we can get behind anyone who is “about that action.” In fact, several Grinders were about that action last night. PetrGibbons, rode the aforementioned Kris Letang performance to a win in the $12 WFHC, TheClone took down the Baller on FanDuel, and MoTownMauler won the Crossover.

On the Menu Today

On the Hardwood, NBA Edition – With 11 games on the menu tonight, all the sites have posted guarantees galore, of which Gary Goodman certainly approves. If you are about that action, the R&G highly recommends the $500K Slam Dunk on DraftKings. The winner will be walking away with $100,000 in cold hard cash. With that kind of money, you wouldn’t even need to go to work tomorrow. Just let them know you don’t care if they fine you.

On the Ice – With just three games tonight, the R&G has very little interest in NHL. I don’t want to get fined though, so I will mention it. Even on a three-game slate, jmbwngfn is about that action, and he will have your NHL Daily Plays.

On the Hardwood, College Edition – Conference play continues in college basketball tonight, with 15 games on the menu. If you have access to CBB incentives, Varncass will have you covered with his experts picks for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

NBA Offerings – With $100K on the line, you better get your research started now. Notorious has you covered here with his First Look. hoop2410 has his NBA GPP Plays here. Later today, Beermakersfan will be dropping by with a Six Pack, and STLCardinals84 will give you his Starting Five based on our Daily Research Tools. Notorius will also have a detailed look at every NBA game in his Grind Down.

#Narrative Street – Sure, all the articles I just mentioned will give you some ideas based on research, but sometimes research isn’t enough. In order to win all the money, we need to identify players with just a little extra motivation. Here are your official R&G #NarrativeStreet picks for the $500K Slam on DraftKings. After ruining my team, your team, and everyone else’s team on Monday, Russell Westbrook is due for a #BounceBack game. While Chandler Parsons is returning to Houston tonight, Rudy Gay gets the official #RevengeGame bump in his return to Toronto. Sadly, the only NBA Player with a birthday today is Marc Gasol, but he will be out celebrating since Memphis does not play. No one gets the #BirthdayGame narrative. Also, as of this posting, no bobblehead promotions have been announced, so no one gets the #BobbleheadBump either.

GrindersLive

After you finish reading all the great NBA offerings, make sure to join us this afternoon for GrindersLive. BritDevine and DraftCheat will tip off three straight hours of NBA talk at 3:30 PM EST. They are followed by CrazyGabey and RadThad at 4:30, and then dean79804 and Al_Smizzle will bring you home at 5:30.

It looks like I have officially reached my word count, so I won’t get fined. I’m out. Hope you guys win some money tonight. Good luck, and keep grinding.
