Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed It

DraftKings Summer Games – Do you need to win some extra money for that summer vacation that you have been planning? How does $3.6 million across 12 days and five sports sound? DraftKings is proud to announce the Summer Games. They start this Thursday with a $3 PGA event that pays $100K. Other highlights of the Summer Games include a $27 FBWC qualifier, a $3 Swing For the Fences ($100K to first), a $50 Super Booster (top 100 win $1000), $100 Main Event GPPs for PGA, SOC, NAS, MLB, and PGA, and various other contests ranging from $0.25 to $5,300. For more information, or a schedule of events click here.

King of The Hill – In case you missed it over the weekend, TommyG took down a King of The Hill (KOTH) qualifier and then subsequently beat ehafner in a H2H to become the new King. Tommy was the King DFS needs, but not the one it deserves. Sadly, Tommy’s reign was a short one, as he was defeated by msteinberg09 last night. The contest came down to a five versus five, but it was realistically decided by msteinberg taking Andrew Cashner instead of Felix Hernandez. Tonight, msteinberg will take on dinkpiece, who took down the $27 KOTH qualifier last night.

Big Winners – Even though last night was just a normal Monday night in DFS, lots of big money was on the line. Several Grinders took advantage and hit big paydays. Emsbro took down the DK Perfect game, hratner won the Payoff Pitch, and abababa155 (isn’t that the Contra cheat code?) won the Moonshot. In the high stakes world, baloo3101 won the Gold Glove, and plord64 took down the FBWC qualifier.

Over on FD, the night belonged to bcalicore, as he took 1-4 in the Slam and first in the Monster. A few other players besides bcalicore did win though. Phillyphan007 took down the Rally and oneisthelonliestnumber won the DFBC qualifier. For the rest of yesterday’s links, click on this forum thread.

King Felix? – If your name isn’t in the above paragraph, there’s a good chance that King Felix ruined your Dodgers stack like he did mine. The King looked like royalty through the first three innings, then turned into a pauper in the fourth. The King’s poor night was capped off by a Mark Teixeira grand slam in the 4th inning. If we were paying attention, this wouldn’t have happened. Batter vs. Pitcher stats, or BvP for short, would have told us that Tex owns Felix. In his career, Tex has six dongs off Felix. Next time someone tries to tell you about BvP, remember it’s more than a narrative – numbers never lie.

Swaggy P – Speaking of narratives, Nick Young, aka Swaggy P, had a birthday yesterday. Even though Swaggy’s Lakers were eliminated long ago birthday, narratives also apply to real life events, not just basketball games. Swaggy proposed to his girlfriend Iggy Azalea and she said yes. I’m sure no one will ask his opinion, but I have to assume Kobe Bryant reacted to the news the same way he reacted to this shot.

On The Menu

MLB Tonight – Last night the Dodgers stack and King Felix had all of us feeling like we were going to steal all the money. Sadly, we came up just a bit short like Rene Rivera trying to take second. The good news is that we can get right back on the horse for tonight’s super-sized slate. There are actually 17 games with the Jays/Nationals and Dodgers/Rockies play doubleheaders. The evening slate will only use the 15 games, starting at 7:05 ET though.

MLB Content – With so many games on tap, you are going to want to enlist the help of others to break down the games. Notorious will get things started with a look at every single game in his MLB Grind Down. After you finish the Grind Down, be sure to check out MTro86’s Advanced Pitching Stats and DougThorburn’s Daily Pitcher Breakdown. If you are a premium subscriber, you will definitely want to read JMTowin’s MLB Edge. JM is on a bit of a heater right now, as he won the Perfect Game on Sunday and took third in the Gold Glove last night. If you aren’t a premium subscriber, you can always grab a free one week trial at this link.

#NarrativeStreet – If you are looking for some off-the-radar plays, you probably won’t find them in the above article. The experts tend to rely on stats for their picks, but an advantage can be gained by looking at the narratives. For example, you should start every team tonight with Marlon Byrd in a #RevengeGame against the Phillies. Yoenis Cespedes will also have #Revenge on his mind as he takes on the Athletics. If revenge isn’t your thing, try out Kyle Seager on his #BobbleheadNight against the Yankees. Last but not least, fire up Curtis Granderson as today’s BvP play of the day. Granderson is 5-of-9 off Ian Kennedy with a dong.

MLB Tournaments – With the wealth of information provided here at RotoGrinders, you are going to want to use that knowledge to win some serious cash. Today is Tuesday, so we are not lacking in the super-sized GPP department. FanDuel is running a $200K Super Rally at $5, a $150K Grand Slam at $25 and a $700K Super Monster at $300. If FanDuel isn’t your thing, DraftKings has a massive amount of guaranteed money as well.

Bottom Line – It has been pointed out many times that satellites are generally the softest contests on the major sites. With two different $3 tournaments coming up that pay $100 to first, you will want to start picking up same $3 tickets in the $0.25 satellites. If you can afford to spend a little more, there are plenty of millionaire maker satellites on DK. Over on FanDuel, you can win DFBC satellites for as low as a few dollars. Don’t forget to allocate a portion of your bankroll to chasing tickets. It is the quickest way to multi-enter like the big boys for quite a bit cheaper.
