Rise & Grind: Tuesday, March 3rd

rotogrinders_user_23226

Welcome to the RotoGrinders cup o’morning joe. Start your day off right here, as we sort through the yesterday’s happenings and take a peek at the upcoming DFS day.

In Case You Missed It

Hassan Fightside – It’s too bad that here at RG we already agreed Hassan Whiteside’s nickname should be Hassan “Upside”. Last night Hassan showed the other side of his personality. In the third quarter, Whiteside finished a putback dunk over Alex Len. After the dunk, Len shoved Whiteside and Whiteside executed a textbook takedown. Ronda Rousey would have been proud, but sadly we don’t get points for takedowns in NBA DFS. Instead, if you played Whiteside, you got an ejection and zero points for the rest of the game.

Sortable Cheat Sheets – This was announced a few days ago, but you may have missed it. RotoGrinders now offers sortable daily cheat sheets. The goal here is to have all your targets for the day in one easy-to-understand location. You can sort by position or one of four categories. Those categories are safe, upside, punt, and contrarian. More details are in this forum thread. The cheat sheets are part of our premium incentives package. If you haven’t tried out incentives, you can sign up for a free one-week trial or even buy a month for only $25.

Big Winners – Last night was a strange night in NBA DFS. Whiteside, Len, and Markieff Morris were all ejected and Jamal Crawford left his game early with injury. Avoiding those injuries finally allowed “cantwinever” to pick up a win. He picked up $15,000 by taking first in the Monster. Time for a name change, sir. Several Grinders also placed in the top ten in the Monster (bcalicore, ehafner, ganondorf, theclone) as well as the Slam (escot4, who also won the FanDuel DFBBC qualifier, and blakel34). Over on DraftKings, markgenorex took down the 3-Ball while Grinders cheddabisque, maxdalury, ehafner, and Al_Smizzle had top ten finishes. In the WFBC qualifier, Comox_Warrior punched his ticket to Vegas. For the rest of the links, be sure to visit the Monday Links forum thread.

DraftKings App Update – If you have an iPhone and you do not have the DraftKings App, I just don’t know what to tell you. It is hands down the best app in the industry and just keeps getting better. Yesterday, DraftKings released an updated version. You need to stop what you are doing and go download it now. Seriously, go start the download then come back and finish this article. I will wait.

On The Menu

Million Dollar Slam Tomorrow – For about a month now, I have been looking forward to the FanDuel million dollar Slam. The full details have not been announced, but my “sources”, aka me in this forum thread have leaked some details. The tournament will consist of about 45,977 entries and first place will receive $100,000. If you don’t want to pay the full $25 to enter, tonight is your last chance to win a ticket. There are qualifiers in the lobby for $1, $2, and $5. Chances to win a six-figure prize payday for $25 do not come around often. You don’t want to miss out on this.

NBA Super Tuesday – If you aren’t a patient person, there is quite a bit of money to be won tonight as well. FanDuel has super-sized the Monster and Baller tonight, and DraftKings has close to $500K in Guaranteed contests in the lobby. You might as well get started on your research right now with Notorious’ First Look. Later today, check back for a25smith’s Starting Five and Notorious’ NBA Grind Down. Also, GrindersLive will tip off three hours of NBA analysis starting at 3:30 PM EST.

NHL Tonight – If you love NHL, Tuesday is by far the best night of the week. Tonight, the NHL offers 10 games for your DFS pleasure. If you are looking for the official Rise and Grind line stack, look no further than the LAK/EDM game. For my money, there is no better line to stack than “That 70s Line.” Fire up King-Carter-Toffoli tonight and profit. It’s really that simple. If you don’t believe me, that’s okay too. You can always get the opinion of actual experts later today. Boggslite will bring you NHL Daily Plays and Pepsi7 has your GPP plays, as well as the Frozen Five.

Soccer Today – Are you at work right now? If so, you are probably bored. I have found that sweating some DFS action makes the day go by faster. Lucky for us, DraftKings has some afternoon soccer action kicking off at 2:45 PM. For only $5, you can get in on a MicroMillions contest that pays $500 to first. Seriously, it’s only $5. Give ernestsilko’s picks a read here and get in on the action.

CBB Tonight – Last but not least, you will want to take a look at the CBB offerings tonight. There are a little over two weeks until March Madness begins. Now is a good time to start following Varncass’ expert picks everyday and learn the intricacies of CBB. While you are at it, you might as well pick up some CBB MicroMillions tickets on DraftKings and Survive the Madness tickets on FanDuel. Tonight is the perfect night to give it a shot with 12 games on the schedule.

With that Grinders, it’s time to say goodbye until tomorrow. Good luck out there tonight. I hope you take something down like my hero Hassan Fightside did
